It’s A Wonderful Time for Music
Greetings Friends,
I was humbled and gratified to receive so many genuine “Welcome back” and “How are you feeling?” exchanges this past Sunday upon returning from emergency gallbladder surgery.. It is in these moments which remind and solidify for me how fortunate I am to be on the staff here at First Lutheran Church.
I wish to say thank you to Kris for the consistently beautiful and musical renderings on flute and with her singing which she so unselfishly shares with us for our the enhancement of our worship services. “Simple Gifts” was so musical and fitting thematically for a service following our annual meeting.
This upcoming Sunday we have mother and daughter, Nicole and Allison, providing vocal and instrumental offerings for the benefit of our worship service. Generally speaking, First Lutheran, as a whole, is very king and appreciative to our guest musicians. I cannot tell you how many times I hear them being thanked and complimented after the service. Keep along this positive pathway, and you may be assured to have people willing and excited to return.
Some are musical highlights coming up during the Lenten Season are The Holden Evening Prayer being sung each Wednesday evening though the season of Lent. My ‘dual prayer’ is for a great turnout on February 11th and a renewed and willing spirit to offer your times and talents to the glory of God The musical anthem will be a two part piece entitled “From All That Dwells Below the Skies,” arranged by Gordon Young. So, please be prompt and ready to begin rehearsing at 8:30 sharp for the service to follow.
Again, thank you for all of your support and kindness throughout these past few months. You are all very special and are much appreciated!
Blessings,
Ben 🎵
