I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday. Some musical opportunities of which to take note 🎵
I am going to begin having the Second Sunday Singers meet before the worship service on the second Sunday of every month. So, if you miss hearing the choir sing on Sunday mornings but there just are not enough hours in the week for regular weekly rehearsals, this is for you! Beginning on January 14th we will meet one hour prior to the service (8:30 sharp!) to learn and rehearse a very accessible song which we will sing for that Sunday’s anthem during the offering. Women and Men, Adults and Children, Young and Old — all are welcome to come and “make a joyful noise unto the Lord!”
A goal for this new year is to tap into the various talents of you, the members of First Lutheran. I know there are great voices out there — I can hear you from the piano! So, do not be afraid - I am happy and willing to sit down with anyone who has an interest in sharing their God given talents. I will have a sign up sheet in the back this coming Sunday, January 7th. If you have even the tiniest of interest or curiosity and would like to find out more about how you might participate, please leave your name and contact information. Rest assured, signing your name does not in any way commit you to anything. At this time, my goal is to learn what you like (or would like to see) from the music program here at First Lutheran. I will list my contact information at the top of the sign up sheet.
Finally, I wish to reiterate my deep appreciation for your support during my recovery from surgery. Your compassion and understanding warmed my heart! Blessings to all and prayers for a healthy and happy new year!
