February 2025
Greetings! I pray your week is going well; and, if not: if you are feeling worried or anxious, lost or left behind, or simply sick and tired, please be comforted, hold steadfast, and remember these words from Psalm 46 -- āBe still, and know that I am God.ā Let us also find a joyful satisfaction, as exemplified in the lyrics of the familiar hymn "Blessed Assurance," by the prolific and inspirational hymnist Fanny Crosby (1820--1915).
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of his Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long!
Some musical highlights coming up as we transition from Epiphany to Lent --
Second Sunday Singers: we will be singing on our regular second Sunday of the month, which would be February 9th. Our anthem will be the familiar and well loved arrangement of "Here I Am, Lord" by Jack Schrader. We will also sing at our service on Ash Wednesday [anthem TBA].
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our guest vocalist from Sunday, Nicole, for her beautiful and heartfelt rendering of the gospel hymn "My Jesus, I Love Thee."
Blessings,
Ben šµ
