It Came Down to Only One Word…
Greetings Friends at First,
When it came right down to it,, one little word — one single word — divided the Reformation movement from the Roman Catholic Church of the sixteenth century. That one word was only (alone); in Latin, sola. The Reformers included the word only in these five primary beliefs which they believed were the foundation of the Christian church.
They are as follows:
— Word alone
— Christ alone
— Grace alone
— Faith alone
— Soli Deo Gloria ~ To God alone be the glory.
We will hold a special service celebrating our Lutheran heritage on Reformation Sunday, October 29th. Please come and partake in scripture and song.
~ Future musical opportunities include Second Sunday Singers, who meet one hour prior to services on the second Sunday of each month, which would be November 12th, then December 10th.
On a personal note, I wish to thank you for your prayers and well wishes while I recover from hip replacement surgery.
Soli Deo Gloria
Blessings, Ben
